Clear Skies Paragliding flies in the Eastern Pyrenees and
the Aude, both of which are in the Languedoc Roussillon region of southern
France, an area of outstanding natural beauty, historic and cultural interest,
delicious food, wine - and sunshine! We are based in Vinca, half an hour from Perpignan on the road to Andorra. Occasionally we fly on the Spanish side of the Pyrenees because we're near the border.
The Pyrenees mountains are stunningly beautiful and rich
in plants and animals. This region of France averages 310 days of
sunshine annually and the skies are uncrowded, as yet undiscovered by
the masses.
There are beautiful sandy beaches along the Mediterranean
coast (40 minutes away by car). The coastline between Collioure and the
French-Spanish border is particularly beautiful, with the vine covered
slopes of the Alberes range of the Pyrenees
dropping away into the sea, creating numerous small rocky coves, including
Leucate, one of our coastal sites.
The local people are exceptionally relaxed and friendly.
As well as paragliding, there are a host of other activities
including whitewater sports, canoeing, fishing, tennis and horse riding.
This area is renowned for its hill and mountain walks, from a short
stroll to a full day's hike up to heights of over 4,000 ft.
